Dr. Kerry Mccabe

Biography

Kerry K. McCabe, MD, serves as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. With a medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Dr. McCabe is also a graduate of Williams College. As Vice Chair of Education in her department, she has made substantial contributions to resident and medical student education, taking a leadership role in curriculum development and educational innovations. Dr. McCabe is passionate about fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in medical education and mentoring medical students and junior faculty. She promotes active engagement in confronting historical inequality and encourages introspection regarding personal beliefs. Dr. McCabe has been instrumental in founding the BMC Emergency Medicine Residency JEDI committee, which focuses on advancing diverse residency recruitment and fostering inclusive training environments. She has also conducted multiple workshops and training sessions aimed at addressing microaggressions and promoting a culture of inclusivity within the medical community. Her research interests encompass faculty development, organizational culture, emotional impact in medical education, and leadership within the field of emergency medicine.
