Biography

Kerstin de Wit holds a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Emergency Venous Thromboembolism and is a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Queen’s University. She works clinically as an emergency physician and thrombosis physician at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. Dr. de Wit trained in internal medicine and emergency medicine in the UK and completed a Thrombosis Fellowship in Ottawa in 2013. She has extensive experience in emergency medicine and thrombosis, leading a research program focused on the diagnosis of bleeding and clotting disorders in the emergency department, which is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Dr. de Wit also serves as the Director of the Queen’s University Clinician Investigator Program and is actively accepting applications for graduate student supervision.
