Biography

Ketan Savla is an associate professor and John Dorothy Shea Early Career Chair in Civil Engineering at the University of Southern California. He holds joint appointments in the Sonny Astani Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Daniel J. Epstein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, with a courtesy position in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering-Systems. Prior to this, he worked as a research scientist at the Laboratory for Information Decision Systems at MIT. He obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and M.A. in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, alongside Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, respectively. Savla has served on various editorial boards and currently holds the position of senior editor for the IEEE Control Systems Letters. He is also a co-founder and chief science officer at Xtelligent, Inc. His research interests encompass distributed robust optimal control, dynamical networks, state-dependent queuing systems, incentive design, and their applications in infrastructure systems and robotics.
