Biography

Ketan Savla is an associate professor holding the John Dorothy Shea Early Career Chair in Civil Engineering at the University of Southern California. He has joint appointments in the Sonny Astani Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Daniel J. Epstein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (courtesy), and the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering-Systems (courtesy). He completed a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and an M.A. in Applied Mathematics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, respectively. His previous experience includes serving as a research scientist at the Laboratory for Information Decision Systems at MIT. Currently, he is involved in editorial positions for several IEEE journals and is a senior editor for IEEE Control Systems Letters. His research focuses on distributed robust optimal control, dynamical networks, state-dependent queuing systems, and incentive design, particularly in the context of infrastructure systems and robotics.
