Biography

Ketan Savla is an associate professor and the John Dorothy Shea Early Career Chair in Civil Engineering at the University of Southern California. He holds joint appointments in the Sonny Astani Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Daniel J. Epstein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, and the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering-Systems. Prior to his current position, he was a research scientist at the Laboratory for Information Decision Systems at MIT. Dr. Savla obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and M.A. in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and both an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. He has served as an Associate Editor for several IEEE publications and is currently a senior editor for the IEEE Control Systems Letters. His research interests include distributed robust optimal control, dynamical networks, state-dependent queuing systems, and incentive design, particularly in applications related to infrastructure systems and robotics.
