Biography

Kevin Coward graduated from the University of Stirling with a Bachelor's degree in Biological Science and obtained a PhD in Reproductive Physiology and Endocrinology. He started his research career focusing on pharmacological, physiological, and molecular aspects of male and female reproduction. In 2002, he moved to the University of Oxford and has since held various academic positions, including Director of the MSc in Clinical Embryology for 16 years. He currently oversees the management and development of postgraduate programs in the Nuffield Department of Women's and Reproductive Health. Coward has served as Senior Editor for several academic volumes and is involved in numerous university committees. His research interests primarily involve the molecular mechanisms of oocyte activation and fertilization, especially focusing on sperm-specific phospholipase C. He collaborates with clinical institutions to help young patients at risk of infertility due to cancer treatments. Coward has received multiple teaching and research awards for his contributions and has a keen interest in pedagogy.
