Dr. Kevin Elliott

Biography

Kevin J. Elliott is a political scientist and Lecturer in Ethics, Politics, and Economics at Yale University. His primary research interests are focused on political theory, with a particular emphasis on democratic theory, ethics of democratic citizenship, and political epistemology. Elliott's work investigates the intersection of normative and empirical inquiries and includes the authorship of the book 'Democracy for Busy People' published by the University of Chicago Press. His research has been published in several prestigious journals including the American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Perspectives on Politics, Political Theory, Critical Review, Contemporary Political Theory, and CRISPP (Critical Review of International Social and Political Philosophy). He holds a PhD from Columbia University obtained in 2015, a Master’s in Political Theory from the London School of Economics, and a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA with Summa Cum Laude honors. His research has been supported by the U.S. Department of Education, Princeton University’s University Center for Human Values, and Columbia's Institute for Social and Economic Research and Policy.
