Kevin J. Folliard is a professor and director of the Laboratory for Infrastructure Materials Engineering at the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. He joined the faculty in 1999 after serving as an assistant professor at the University of Delaware from 1997 to 1999 and as a senior research engineer at W.R. Grace & Co. from 1995 to 1997. Folliard obtained his Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 1995. His research focuses on the durability of Portland cement concrete, including high-performance concrete and controlled low-strength materials. He has received numerous accolades, including the ACI Young Member Award for Professional Achievement in 2003 and the Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award from the University of Texas System in 2013. Folliard has authored or co-authored 150 technical publications, over 65 of which are refereed journal papers. He is a fellow of the American Concrete Institute, recognized for his contributions to the field and for his commitment to teaching civil engineering materials and concrete technology.
