Biography

Kevin J. Folliard is a professor and director of the Laboratory for Infrastructure Materials Engineering at the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, where he has been a faculty member since 1999. He previously served as an assistant professor at the University of Delaware and as a senior research engineer at W.R. Grace & Co. Folliard holds a Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, obtained in 1995. His research primarily focuses on the durability of Portland cement concrete, including high-performance concrete and controlled low-strength materials. He teaches courses on civil engineering materials and concrete technology. Folliard is a fellow of the American Concrete Institute and has received numerous awards for his contributions to engineering education and research, including the ACI Wason Medal for Materials Research and the Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award from the University of Texas System. He has authored or co-authored 150 technical publications, with over 65 refereed journal papers.
