Biography

Kevin Gingerich is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering with a focus on transportation studies. He received his PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Windsor and was awarded the NSERC PGS-D scholarship. His work was conducted at the Cross-Border Institute, where he focused on Canada-U.S. trade, specifically in truck data processing, analysis, and modelling. Gingerich's research interests include transportation network modelling, freight transportation, GIS spatial analysis, and discrete choice modelling. He has previously completed projects with organizations such as Transport Canada, the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO), and Union Gas. His research has been disseminated in widely respected journals including Transportation Research Part C: Emerging Technologies, the Journal of Transport Geography, and Transportation Research Record. Professor Gingerich is enthusiastic about teaching and engaging with students at Lassonde, particularly as the transportation field rapidly evolves with emerging technologies and increasing data integration, alongside shifting cultural trends. He is committed to developing new tools to help understand current trends and plan for a sustainable future.
