Biography

Kevin R. Gray is an Adjunct Lecturer at Queen's Law, specializing in international trade law. An international trade lawyer with the Government of Canada, he has dedicated 18 years to the Trade Law Bureau in Ottawa, focusing on WTO dispute settlement, international trade agreement negotiations, and advisory work. His areas of specialization include the relationship between international trading rules and domestic measures concerning climate change, sanitary and phytosanitary health, intellectual property, Indigenous peoples, and government procurement. Kevin has taught courses in international trade law, public international law, international environmental law, and climate change law at the University of Ottawa and Queen's University, including the Summer International Law Program in Sussex, UK. He holds a Master's degree in International Law (Merit) from the London School of Economics. Prior to his work with the Government of Canada, he has consulted for various international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and research think tanks worldwide. Recently, he has coached the University of Ottawa's John Jackson WTO Moot team, which won the international final round in June 2023.
