Biography

Kevin Markle joined the Broad College of Business at Michigan State University in 2020 as a Deloitte/Michael Licata Fellow in the Department of Accounting Information Systems. He focuses his teaching on financial accounting and taxation, offering courses in both traditional and online formats, as well as participating in the doctoral program as a research seminar leader. He obtained his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2010, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Science in 1992 from the same institution, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Toronto in 1994. His research centers on international taxation and has been published in prestigious journals, including Accounting Review and Journal of Accounting Research. He has achieved recognition for his contributions to the field, receiving funding from the International Tax Policy Forum and awards such as the Outstanding Tax Dissertation Award from the American Taxation Association. Kevin enjoys spending time with his family in Toronto, where he was born and raised, and is actively engaged in sports, including hockey and coaching his children’s teams.
