Biography

Kevin McMurtrie has a career spanning twenty-eight years in commercial aviation as a pilot and in flight training. He holds an Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), an Instrument Rating, a Grade 1 Flight Instructor Rating, and a Flight Examiner Rating, with over 7000 hours of flying experience. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of New South Wales, focusing on flight crew safety reporting behaviors and the influence of culture on reporting practices. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a member of several aviation psychology associations. In his personal life, he enjoys spending time with his dog and traveling.
