Dr. Kevin Pfleger

Biography

Professor Kevin Pfleger is the Director of Biomedical Health Innovation at the University of Western Australia (UWA) and heads the Molecular Endocrinology Pharmacology unit at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. A graduate of the University of Cambridge (MA) and the University of Edinburgh (PhD), he has been instrumental in advancing research in drug discovery, specifically in areas such as molecular pharmacology and protein interactions. He has held prestigious research fellowships, including the National Health Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Peter Doherty Research Fellowship and the Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellowship. Elected as a Fellow of the British Pharmacological Society, he has contributed significantly to the understanding of receptor biology and G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR). Pfleger has taken on various leadership roles, including founding the Australian Clinical Entrepreneur Program and serving as Chief Scientific Advisor for multiple biotech firms, focusing on innovative healthcare solutions. His work supports several UN Sustainable Development Goals, addressing the critical intersections of health and technology.
