Biography

Kevin Weinfurt is the James B. Duke Distinguished Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Population Health Sciences at Duke University Medical Center. He has faculty appointments in various departments including Psychology and Neuroscience, Philosophy, and Biostatistics and Bioinformatics. His research focuses on clinical outcome assessments, pragmatic trial methodology, and bioethics. Weinfurt is the co-PI of the NIH Health Systems Research Collaboratory, which aims to enhance the understanding of conducting pragmatic clinical trials. He has contributed to bioethics and patient-reported outcomes in various initiatives and is also an Associate Editor for Clinical Trials. Weinfurt has provided expert advice through his membership in the Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Human Research Protections and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in bioethics, health measurement, and research methods.
