Kevin Wilkinson holds degrees in Classics and Religious Studies from the University of British Columbia (BA, MA) and Yale University (MA, PhD). He specializes in the history and literature of the Roman Empire, with a particular interest in the intersection of religion and politics during this period. His primary research focus is on the fourth-century Greek epigrammatist Palladas of Alexandria. In addition to his articles on this topic, he edited the editio princeps of a fragmentary papyrus codex containing new epigrams that appeared in 2012 (American Studies in Papyrology, vol. 52). He is currently preparing a book exploring Palladas’ topical poetry against the backdrop of the historical period of Diocletian and Constantine. His studies in print forthcoming include articles on late third-century imperial itineraries, the Theodosian Code, and a fourth-century senatorial widow named Melania the Elder, as well as late antique oracles. He joined the faculty of the Department of Classics at the University of Toronto in 2013.
