Biography

Kevin C. Zhou joins the University of Michigan's Biomedical Engineering Department from UC Berkeley, where he was a Schmidt Science Fellow and a postdoctoral scholar in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences. He earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP), and holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Yale University, with support from the Barry Goldwater Scholarship. His research focuses on developing high-performance computational optical imaging systems capable of high spatiotemporal throughput, including systems with high resolution, speed, and field view. His lab is dedicated to creating optical instrumentation and machine learning-driven algorithms for reconstructing, analyzing, and visualizing large data sets, which accelerate discoveries across biology and medicine. His research interests encompass Imaging, Ultrasonics & Biophotonics, as well as Biomedical Artificial Intelligence and Computation.
