Dr. Khadija Van Der Straaten

Biography

Khadija van der Straaten is an Associate Professor at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. She specializes in International Business Sustainability, with key research topics including gender inequality, multinational enterprises, and global value chains. Her work has been published in reputable peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of International Business Studies and Critical Perspectives on International Business. Khadija's research has gained attention from significant platforms, including the World Economic Forum and Forbes, where she discusses empirical research findings using quantitative configurational analysis. She has also served on the editorial review board of the Journal of International Business Policy. In 2022, she obtained her PhD from the University of Amsterdam Business School, where her dissertation received the Gunnar Heldlund award. Khadija was a visiting research fellow at the John H. Dunning Centre for International Business at Henley Business School in the UK from January 2021 to December 2024, actively contributing to various academic activities and courses related to philosophy of science and global business strategies.
