Biography

Kieren Mayers is the Vice President of Environmental and Social Governance at Sony Interactive Entertainment. With over 30 years of experience in developing sustainability solutions for various industries, he has held significant management roles in the electronics and entertainment waste management sectors at major companies including IBM, Xyratex, Hewlett-Packard, Geodis, and Sony. He is a founding member of several key initiatives and has played a crucial role in the original steering committee for the world's largest recycling schemes, including the European Recycling Platform. Kieren served as Chair of the United Nations Playing for Planet Alliance and has contributed to the EU Games Console Self-Regulatory Initiative. He holds a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Bradford and a Doctorate in Environmental Technology from Brunel University. In addition to his role at Oxford Saïd Business School, he is involved with the INSEAD Sustainable Operations Initiative, serves as a Visiting Professor at the University of Surrey’s Centre for Environment and Sustainability, and is a Governor at the University of East London. Kieren has also been a Research Affiliate at Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and is a member of the Practitioner Doctorate in Sustainability Advisory Board at the University of Surrey.
