Biography

Kihong Park's research focuses on design control issues related to high-speed multimedia networks, which include deployable IP Quality of Service, scalable network security, and robust distributed systems. His work has been published in major networking venues such as ACM SIGCOMM, ACM SIGMETRICS, IEEE ICNP, and IEEE INFOCOM. Additionally, he has edited significant works like 'Self-Similar Network Traffic Performance Evaluation' and 'The Internet Large-Scale Complex System.' Dr. Park earned his Bachelor’s degree in Management from Seoul National University in 1988, his Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of South Carolina in 1990, and his PhD from Boston University in 1996. He has contributed as a chair for the NSF/SFI Workshop on Internet Large-Scale Complex Systems and has served on various editorial boards, including IEEE Communications Letters and Computer Networks. His research has been supported by grants from government and industry including the Army, DARPA, ETRI, Intel, NSF, SFI, Sprint, and Xerox.
