Dr. Killian Mccarthy

Biography

Killian J. McCarthy is an Associate Professor of Strategy at Radboud University. He also serves as a Professor of Practice at the Kyiv School of Economics and a Docent at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. His research specializes in the creation and sustainability of value within firms, focusing on topics such as strategy, scaling, and the navigation of political and regulatory systems. McCarthy's work has been published in prominent journals, including Research Policy and Energy Policy, as well as high-visibility outlets like Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan. He has held previous positions as an Associate Professor at the University of Groningen and a Visiting Professor at Loughborough University and National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. McCarthy has led several significant research projects, including a €1.5 million Horizon Europe project assessing Ukraine's innovation infrastructure. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Groningen and has multiple degrees from Utrecht University, the University of Vienna, and the National University of Ireland, where he graduated cum laude.
