Kim completed a PhD in Behavioural Science focusing on the role of media in promoting plastic avoidance at Monash University. His research expertise encompasses social government research, having worked with major organizations including the Victorian Department of Energy, Environment, and Climate Action, and Sustainability Victoria. Before joining BehaviourWorks Australia (BWA), Kim was involved in various areas including road safety, mental health, and environmental behavior. Currently, he focuses on environmental behavior, particularly waste reduction initiatives like litter prevention and responsible consumption. Between 2021 and 2023, he co-led a significant research collaboration on responsible consumption and is currently leading a large program aimed at mitigating marine debris in the Great Barrier Reef. Kim is interested in how media and social norms influence human behavior, and he has a strong methodological background in large-scale survey design and data analysis, including segmentation analysis and experimental research design. He also serves on the Science Advisory Committee for Zoos Victoria.
