Biography

Kim Sherwood is a Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Edinburgh, where she teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including the Creative Writing MSc and English Scottish Literature MA. As a novelist, she supervises dissertations and is available for PhD supervision. Her debut novel, 'Testament' (2018), was longlisted for the Desmond Elliott Award and won the Bath Novel Award, among other accolades. Sherwood has taught Creative Writing at various institutions, including the University of East Anglia and the University of Sussex. Her ongoing research interests include the intersection of trauma and memory, particularly through the lens of intergenerational storytelling in her works. She is currently working on a trilogy of novels expanding the James Bond universe, in collaboration with the Ian Fleming estate. Her latest literary novel, 'Wild & True Relation' (2023), examines themes of women's writing and historical narratives. Sherwood engages in public speaking and has presented at numerous literary festivals, as well as contributing to various media outlets and scholarly publications.
