Dr. Kim Sønderskov

Biography

Kim Mannemar Sønderskov is a Professor at Aarhus University, focusing on political behavior. His research examines how citizens' personal experiences with issues such as economic inequality, unemployment, ethnicities, and crime shape their behavior, perceptions, attitudes, and mental health. He investigates significant topics such as citizens' trust in the state, attitudes towards immigration, economic redistribution, environmentally friendly behaviors, and life satisfaction. A considerable part of his work deals with discrimination, and he serves as the deputy director at the Center for Experimental-Philosophical Studies of Discrimination (CEPDISC). Sønderskov's interdisciplinary approach encompasses political science, social psychology, economics, epidemiology, and political philosophy. He teaches methodological and statistical courses in the political science program at Aarhus University and has previously instructed courses in the social sciences program at the University of Greenland. He has authored and contributed to textbooks on statistical software and public administration, focusing on statistical methods in both Danish and English. He supervises student theses in political science and economics, particularly emphasizing public policy.
