Biography

Dr. Whitehead is a HCPC-registered Clinical Scientist in Neurophysiology, having qualified clinically in 2010. After working in the NHS and conducting research on seizure disorders, she moved to the Department of Neuroscience, Physiology and Pharmacology at University College London, where she completed her PhD on neonatal brain development. From 2019 to 2023, Dr. Whitehead served as a Principal Investigator at UCL, co-affiliated with the Institute of Women’s Health. Currently, she holds a position as a Senior Lecturer in the Research Division of Digital Health and Applied Technology Assessment at King’s College London. Her research interests lie in the application of neuromonitoring technologies for neonatal and developmental studies, focusing on critical care, sleep medicine, and epileptology. Dr. Whitehead's research is highly interdisciplinary, bridging fundamental biosciences with mathematics and computer science. She is dedicated to mentoring students and has a particular interest in supervising postgraduate research projects that focus on innovative applications in developmental medicine.
