Kimberly Claffy holds a Ph.D. from the University of California at San Diego from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and now is an Adjunct Professor. She acts as Principal Investigator and Director of the Cooperative Association for Internet Data Analysis (CAIDA), and is a resident research scientist based at the University of California's San Diego Supercomputer Center. Her research interests focus on computer networks, including modeling, analysis, visualization, and studying observable trends in Internet topology and traffic behavior, as well as their implications for the future Internet. Claffy is known for her active and passive network measurement support and her work in imagining a scalable architecture for the Internet.
