Biography

Kimberly Stratton received a B.A. degree in English Religion from Barnard College, New York City, in 1991. She completed a Master of Theological Studies at Harvard University in 1995, focusing on scripture interpretation. Stratton spent a year and a half studying at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem between 1992 and 1994, where she passed the Hebrew Language Equivalency Exam. She later pursued doctoral studies at Columbia University, earning her Ph.D. in 2002 with a concentration in the History of Religions in Late Antiquity. Her research interests explore early Christianity, Rabbinic Judaism, and the intersection of Greco-Roman culture and religion. Stratton's scholarly output includes significant publications related to the study of violence and social identity in antiquity, as well as the roles of magic and gender within these contexts.
