Biography

Kimberly Woodford is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) who currently serves as an instructor and internship supervisor within the Recreation Leisure Studies Division at Dalhousie University. She is also the program director for the Therapeutic Recreation program, ensuring its accreditation. With considerable experience as a clinical lead and project consultant at Strongest Families Institute, she contributes to distance programming aimed at children, youth, and adults facing mental health challenges. Kimberly has worked in diverse health settings including child and adult mental health, long-term care, and geriatric restorative care. She is actively involved in various committees, including co-chairing the Therapeutic Recreation Program Advisory Committee at Dalhousie since 2019. Additionally, she is a professional member of the Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association and participates in related educational committees that focus on children and youth. Kimberly's educational background includes a Master's in Child and Youth Study from Mount Saint Vincent University and two Bachelor's degrees from Memorial University, one in Sociology/Anthropology and the other in Recreation with a focus on Therapeutic Recreation.
