Biography

Kiminori Matsuyama's research interests concern international trade, economic growth, and development, with a particular focus on understanding the mechanisms of macroeconomic instability, structural transformation, and inequality across countries, regions, and households. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and was the 1996 winner of the Nakahara Prize awarded to a young economist by the Japanese Economic Association.
