Dr. Kimmo Kaski

Biography

Kimmo Kaski is an Associate Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and the Dean of the School of Science at Aalto University. With a background in Computational Science and Engineering, his research interests span various subfields, including condensed matter physics, information technology, systems biology, complexity, and network science. Currently, he focuses on large-scale social networks and the dynamics associated with them. Notably, he is the coordinator of the EU’s Framework 7 Future Emerging Technologies project 'ICTeCollective – Harnessing ICT-enabled Collective Social Behavior', collaborating with institutions such as Aalto University (Finland), Oxford University (UK), Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary), the Institute of Scientific Interchange (Italy), and the University of Warsaw (Poland). Kaski is a fellow of the American Physical Society and has received recognition from multiple prestigious organizations, including the Institute of Physics, Academia Europaea, and the Finnish Academies of Technology and Sciences. He has a significant impact on the fields of physics and social science through his publications and collaborative projects.
