Biography

Kinda Ibrahim is an Associate Professor working in Academic Geriatric Medicine at the University of Southampton, with a pharmacy background. She is the deputy lead for the NIHR Wessex Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) Ageing Dementia Theme and an Associate Lead in Career Development. Kinda’s research focuses on medicines optimisation and deprescribing in older patients. She leads a research programme aimed at reducing polypharmacy in older people living with frailty, alongside initiatives in dementia care and multidisciplinary workforce development. Kinda is a co-chair of the Network for European Researchers in Deprescribing (NERD) steering committee and a key member of the joint AHSN/ARC Wessex Medicine Optimisation network. With significant experience in applied health research, she specializes in qualitative research methods and implementation science. Kinda has developed and evaluated complex interventions and has a specific interest in workforce training and development. She is passionate about mentoring and supporting early career researchers and has taken on roles both at the university and regionally to help them achieve their ambitions. Additionally, she has established and led an international qualitative research network with over 200 members.
