Dr. Kiran Sheikh

Biography

Kiran Sheikh, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at Yale School of Medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University with a major in Neuroscience and a minor in Economics, and later obtained his Medical Doctorate from the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center and a fellowship in Breast Imaging at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Sheikh has served as the Program Director of the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at Bridgeport Hospital-Yale New Haven Health. His research focuses on optimizing digital breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI for evaluating breast diseases. He engages in clinical care as a breast imaging specialist, emphasizing the importance of educating patients and promoting self-care among women at risk for breast cancer. He is also involved in global health efforts, conducting radiology assessments in Ghana, and has received multiple accolades for his teaching and research contributions.
