Kirk Sanders is an Associate Professor in the Department of Classics at the University of Illinois. He received his PhD in Philosophy from the Joint Classics-Philosophy Program at the University of Texas at Austin. Before his appointment at Illinois, he was an assistant professor at Rutgers and a junior fellow at the Center for Hellenic Studies. In addition to his extensive research in Hellenistic philosophy, Dr. Sanders is currently working on a new English translation and commentary of selected works by Xenophon, which includes the 'Apology', 'Memorabilia', 'Oeconomicus', and 'Symposium', particularly concerning Socrates' trial. He also holds additional appointments as an Associate Professor in the Department of Classics and the Department of Philosophy.
