Dr. Kirsten Brohm

Biography

Kirsten Brohm is affiliated with Aarhus University, where she specializes in feminist literary analysis and the print cultures of the anglophone Caribbean region during the early to mid-20th century. Her PhD project investigates the genre-specific development of sentimental literature emerging from women's journals and periodicals in the late colonial period, specifically focusing on the period between 1920 and 1965. Brohm's research encompasses themes of historiography, world literature, postcolonialism, feminism, and literary genres such as sentimentalism. She is actively involved in organizing academic conferences and workshops, including the 48th Annual Society for Caribbean Studies Conference and the Hermes Summer School on world literature and gender, demonstrating her deep engagement with research networks in her field.
