Biography

Kirsten Morris is a Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Waterloo. Her research interests focus on control estimation systems modeled by partial differential equations, smart materials, and hysteresis. Additionally, she is a Fellow of IEEE, IFAC, and SIAM, and received the IEEE Control Systems Society Distinguished Member Award, as well as a Faculty of Mathematics Research Chair. Morris has held visiting positions at distinguished institutions such as NASA Langley and the Fields Institute.
