Biography

Kirsten Sadler Edepli is a professor of biology and Global Network Professor at New York University Abu Dhabi. She holds a BA in Biology and Anthropology from Mount Holyoke College, a Master of Medical Sciences from Harvard Medical School, and a PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from Harvard University. She completed post-doctoral training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Edepli specializes in the use of zebrafish models to study development, disease, and regeneration, focusing on epigenetic regulation, toxicant responses, and cancer development. Her research extends to regenerative processes in mice and limb regeneration in octopuses. She is passionate about mentoring students in their research endeavors and has taught various undergraduate courses that bridge theoretical knowledge with practical research in biological sciences.
