Dr. Kirsty Boyd

Biography

Kirsty Boyd is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Ottawa, specializing in plastic and reconstructive surgery. She completed her medical doctorate at Queen's University in 2004, followed by residency training in Plastic Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Western Ontario in 2009. Her fellowship training includes expertise in Peripheral Nerve and Hand Surgery from Washington University in St. Louis, MO (2011) and Breast Reconstruction from the University of Toronto (2010). Boyd is noted for her role as Program Director in the MD program and actively participates in mentorship through the Breast Reconstruction Fellowship at the University of Ottawa, established in 2009. She is engaged in academic teaching and has contributed significantly to surgical education. Her research interests lie primarily in Peripheral Nerve Surgery and breast reconstruction techniques.
