Biography

Kirti Magudia, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at Duke University School of Medicine. He completed a fellowship in abdominal imaging and ultrasound at the University of California, San Francisco, and underwent diagnostic radiology residency at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. His research focuses on high-level applications of machine learning in radiology, particularly in CT-based body composition analysis and prostate MRI. He has a rich history in clinical data science, having spent seven dedicated months at the MGH/BWH Center for Clinical Data Science as part of a year-long T32 research fellowship in Biomedical Imaging for Clinical Scientists at UCSF. Magudia is also known for his advocacy around family-friendly trainee policies and has been a founding resident chair of a Women in Radiology program at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. He graduated from the Tri-institutional MD/PhD program, after which he completed his Ph.D. in cell and cancer biology under Alan Hall, where he worked on developing novel 3D cell culture models for colon tumorigenesis.
