Dr. Kit Hickey

Biography

Kit Hickey is a Senior Lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management and the Executive Director of the MIT-Royalty Pharma Faculty Founder Initiative, run by MIT’s School of Engineering. At MIT, Kit mentors early-stage entrepreneurs and teaches MBA-level entrepreneurship courses. He has led courses such as Entrepreneurship Lab, Building Entrepreneurial Ventures, and Entrepreneurship 101, and co-designed the widely popular Entrepreneurial Founding Teams, which addresses the people-side of startup building. Due to his teaching contributions, Kit is the recipient of the prestigious Adolf F. Monosson Prize for Entrepreneurial Mentoring in 2024. As Executive Director of the MIT-Royalty Pharma Faculty Founder Initiative, Kit aids MIT faculty in translating breakthrough biotech research into real-world impact, accelerating the path from academic discovery to patient benefit and guiding faculty through the commercialization process. Before joining MIT, Kit co-founded Ministry Supply, a venture-backed apparel company that pioneered the performance-professional category. The brand utilizes advanced manufacturing and materials science to reimagine workwear and has been featured in outlets like New York Magazine, Fast Company, and The Wall Street Journal.
