Biography

I joined the University of Glasgow in 2014 as a Lecturer in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, before moving to the School of Computing Science in 2016. I held a Royal Society Edinburgh Personal Research Fellowship from 2016 to 2021 and my current research is funded by an EPSRC Fellowship from 2021 to 2030. I have a strong background in Mathematics and Computer Science, having gained an MMath from the University of Oxford in 2009 and a DPhil in Mathematics in 2013. My postdoctoral research was conducted at Queen Mary University of London. My research focuses on developing new techniques to design provably correct and efficient algorithms, with applications in domains such as Social Network Analysis and Precision Medicine. I am particularly interested in parameterised algorithms, counting complexity, and temporal networks. My work aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice in algorithm design and includes projects on the structural properties of real datasets to help extract information efficiently. I also have experience supervising students on various projects related to parameterised algorithms and temporal graph problems. I founded the now-annual Scottish Combinatorics Meeting in 2015 and continue to contribute to the academic community as a member of several professional bodies and committees.
