Biography

Kizzy Albritton received a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Alabama, a Master of Education in Behavior/Learning Disabilities from Georgia State University, and a Ph.D. in School Psychology from Georgia State University. Prior to completing her Ph.D., she worked as an elementary and middle school special education teacher. Dr. Albritton's research focuses on expanding the role of school psychologists in early childhood settings and exploring the implementation of multi-tiered frameworks within these contexts. Her work examines school-based issues that affect the academic and social-emotional outcomes of students from minoritized and marginalized backgrounds. Dr. Albritton is currently accepting new doctoral students for Fall 2026. Some of her notable publications include studies on early literacy identification in Head Start settings, training school psychology professionals with a focus on early childhood, and the collaboration of school psychologists to enhance assessment practices.
