Biography

Professor Klaus-Dietrich Wolff researches in the field of plastic reconstructive facial surgery. His work aims to improve the understanding of microsurgical tissue transfer construction and the physiology of healing tissue transplants. A significant focus of his research has been the development of an extracorporeal oxygenation perfusion system for the clinical establishment of perforator flaps to replace soft tissue. He completed his education in medicine and dentistry at Freie Universität Berlin, earning his PhD in 1987, followed by a postdoctoral teaching qualification in 1994. He was appointed as an adjunct professor at Freie Universität Berlin in 1999. From 2000 to 2007, he held the Chair in Oral Surgery Plastic Facial Surgery at Ruhr University Bochum, while also serving as medical director during the years 2004 to 2007. In 2007, he accepted the position of professor at Technical University of Munich, Klinikum rechts der Isar, and became a member of several professional associations.
