Professor Klaus Sedlbauer focuses on Building Physics with particular interests in Hygrothermics and Life Cycle Assessments. He studied physics at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He became a member of the scientific staff at the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics in Stuttgart and Holzkirchen in 1992, receiving his doctorate in 2001. From 2003 to 2014, he held the chair of Building Physics at the University of Stuttgart. Since April 2014, he has been leading the chair at the Technical University of Munich. He is a permanent member of the Indoor Air Hygiene Commission under the German Federal Environment Agency and co-founded the German Sustainable Building Council in 2003. Since then, he has been acknowledged as a spokesperson for the Fraunhofer Building Innovation Alliance and has been involved with several academic and governmental organizations addressing sustainable building practices.
