Dr. Klod Kokini

Biography

Klod Kokini is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University. His research focuses on the mechanical behavior and design remodeling of biological tissues, including the interactions between cells and the extracellular matrix (ECM). He has contributed to the understanding of stress and remodeling in tissues, and his work encompasses thermal stresses, thermal fracture fatigue, and the development of advanced materials, particularly high-temperature materials and ceramic coatings. Kokini has a strong academic background, with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Bogazici University, a Master of Science and a PhD from Syracuse University, where he focused on topics critical to the fields of mechanical and biomedical engineering.
