Biography

Kocku von Stuckrad is a Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Groningen, extensively publishing on topics related to the history of religion, science, and philosophy in Europe and North America. He has served as President of the International Society for the Study of Religion, Nature, and Culture, as well as President of the Dutch Association for the Study of Religion. Furthermore, he is a founding board member of the European Society for the Study of Western Esotericism and has co-chaired several groups at the American Academy of Religion. Appointed Honorary Professor of the Study of Religion at Aarhus University, Denmark, in 2011, he held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Groningen from 2013 to 2017. Currently, he is the Director of the Graduate School of Religion, Culture, and Society at the University of Groningen.
