Biography

Kohei Kishida is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Illinois. He obtained his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh. Following his doctoral studies, he engaged in postdoctoral research at several distinguished institutions including the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Engineering at the University of Groningen, the Institute of Logic, Language and Computation at the University of Amsterdam, the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford, and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Dalhousie University. At Illinois, he is actively involved in the Illinois Quantum Information Science Technology Center (IQUIST) and serves as an affiliate associate professor in both the Department of Mathematics and the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science. His research interests primarily focus on the intersection of logic and computer science, category theory, and the foundations of quantum physics as related to computer science, alongside the history of philosophy and logic. Throughout his career, Kishida has published in recognized venues across computer science, physics, linguistics, and mathematical psychology.
