Biography

Dr. Konstantinos Alysandratos is an Assistant Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine in the Pulmonary, Allergy, Sleep & Critical Care Medicine section. He serves as the Co-Director of the Interstitial Lung Disease Clinic at Boston Medical Center, where he specializes in the treatment of complex lung diseases. As a Principal Investigator at the Center for Regenerative Medicine at Boston University and Boston Medical Center, Dr. Alysandratos leads a National Institutes of Health-funded research program focused on understanding the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis and identifying druggable targets. His research, which incorporates the use of pluripotent stem cell model systems, targets specifically the alveolar epithelium. Dr. Alysandratos earned both his MD and PhD degrees from the University of Athens in Greece. He completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, followed by fellowships in Sleep Medicine and Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine at Boston University. He is a member of the Boston University Pulmonary Center and the Evans Center for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research at Boston Medical Center.
