Dr. Kostas Konstantinidis

Biography

Kostas Konstantinidis is a Richard C. Tucker Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research focuses on microbial ecology and the application of bioinformatics approaches to understand complex microbial communities. His work includes studying the systematics of microorganisms, algorithm development for the analysis of genomes and metagenomes, and bioremediation techniques to improve water quality. Konstantinidis has contributed significantly to the understanding of how organisms in environmental settings interact with their environment, particularly in the context of global challenges such as water pollution and climate change. He has published extensively on these topics and continues to lead projects that innovate in the fields of Environmental Biotechnology and Source Tracking.
