Biography

Kouky Fianu was trained at the Institute of Medieval Studies at the University of Montreal (1992), while completing a Diploma in Advanced Studies at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris (1989). She supervises graduate studies in English or French, focusing primarily on medieval French space. At both the undergraduate and graduate levels, she actively participates in multidisciplinary courses or programs. Her research interests particularly include the social uses of writing, and the production and preservation of texts in the Late Middle Ages, with a specific emphasis on the role of craftsmen in Paris between 1291-1520, and the forgers of documents in the 14th and 15th centuries. Additionally, she has recently focused her research on the archives of Hôtel-Dieu Orléans, spanning from the 12th to the 16th century.
