Biography

Krishna Narayanan is a Professor and the Edgar Yolanda Sanchez Endowed Chair in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1998, and prior to that, he earned his M.S. from Iowa State University and his B.S. from the Coimbatore Institute of Technology in India. Narayanan's work also explores advanced concepts such as transformers and semantic communications, emphasizing the integration of massive multiple access systems with innovative data coding techniques. He has been recognized as an Elected Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for his contributions to the field. His outstanding performance in academia has been acknowledged through several awards, including the best paper award from the IEEE joint Communications Society and Information Theory Society in 2022 and a university-level teaching award from Texas A&M University in 2018.
